I couldn't decide which dessert to post today, so I decided what the heck and I'm going to give you two of them.
INGREDIENTS:
1 Can of Pie Filling (Cherry is fantastic)
1 Large Can Crushed Pineapple
1 Box White or Yellow Cake Mix
1 Stick Margarine
1 Cup Crushed Pecans
DIRECTIONS:
SPREAD PIE FILLING IN BOTTOM OF 13”X9” PAN
SPREAD PINEAPPLE WITH JUICE ON TOP OF THE PIE FILLING
SPREAD DRY CAKE MIX ON TOP OF THE FRUIT
CUT MARGARINE INTO SMALL PIECES AND DROP EVENLY OVER CAKE MIX, MAKING SURE TO GET SOME IN EACH OF THE CORNERS.
SPRINKLE TOP WITH PECANS
BAKE IN 350 F OVEN FOR APPROXIMATELY 45 MINUTES

Note: You can leave out the pineapple. :)
(I hate pineapple but this cake when I make it with cherry pie filling only).
Kgrams, I think we need to come up with a better title for this one. I don't know about you, but the word "dump" doesn't exactly make me start salivating at the mouth.
This is such a great idea...the site.
I promise that someday I will...
1. contribute (shhhhh meritt...don't tell them I can't cook!)
2. steal recipes and test them for you. If I can make it taste good, it's a good recipe!!!
ieatcrayonz..... I don't know if you can change the name of this one. I know the name has been around on this recipe since at least 1965 that I know of (cuz it's in some of my old 60's recipe books). I don't know how far back it goes but yep, it's always called "DUMP CAKE" cuz you just 'dump' everything together in a pan and it somehow turns out perfect! LOL.
Crayonz - Meritt is correct, it has the name as you simply dump each ingredient into the pan. If you have a better name, let me know and I will be happy to add it to my title just for you.
Mama Duck - Welcome to our new blog! The thought for doing this occurred to me one night when I was going through the what do you guys want for dinner this week routine. With Crayonz's suggestion, we created a whole new blog as not to have all of the recipes spread out on several blogs.
You can steal all the recipes you want. Let us know how your family likes them.
As far as contributing, we would love to share any recipes that you may have. I'm positive you have something for next week... after all, a girl from Texas must have some type of tex-mex recipe.
Mmmm, kitty litter.
How about Chunk It In Cake?
First let me say i love this cake. It's one of my favoites. However, Crayonz is right about the name. Chuck it in cake sounds soooo much better, but I bet it was origionally called dump it in cake. Oh, wait, someone will shorten it to chuck cake, just like the dump cake. That's just as bad.
